Field

In the system approach, field is a social aspect of the creative environment. "It refers to the social organization of the domain - to the teachers, critics, journal editors, museum curators, agency directors, and foundation officers who decide what belongs to the domain and what does not" (Csikszentmihalyi 1999: 315). The actors of the field are called gatekeepers. In other systems 'field' is often used in the meaning of domain.
